The 2024 Kia Niro Plug-in Hybrid is a roomy and versatile SUV that offers the efficiency of all-electric driving on short drives, and the convenience of a hybrid engine for longer trips. And with plenty of impressive tech, advanced safety, and driver assistance features, the Niro Plug-in Hybrid is leading the way for PHEV SUVs.

1. Active Safety

The Niro Plug-in Hybrid comes standard with several advanced safety features that are designed to prevent a collision. When you’re backing out of a parking space, there may be vehicles you can’t see approaching from either side behind you. Standard Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist can detect these vehicles and alert you, or even apply the brakes automatically.

To prevent forward collisions, standard Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist can detect vehicles and pedestrians using a camera and sensors. If a collision is predicted, it can automatically engage the brakes to prevent or lessen the impact of a collision.

2. Adaptable Cabin

With 105.1 cu. ft. of space, there’s plenty of room for 5 people inside the Niro Plug-in Hybrid. Rear seat passengers even get best-in-class 39.8 inches of legroom. And the cabin is trimmed with partially recycled materials for an upscale and eco-friendly environment. Behind the second-row seats, the Niro has 19.4 cu. ft. of cargo space, which expands to 54.6 cu. ft. with the rear seats folded. And an available Smart Power Tailgate lets you access the cargo area hands-free.

3. Efficiency and Range

With the Niro’s plug-in hybrid powertrain, you can charge up your vehicle and travel up to an EPA-estimated 33 miles without ever using a drop of gasoline. That allows you to cover short trips around town with an EPA-estimated 108 MPGe combined efficiency rating. But if you need to travel further, you can do it with the convenience of gasoline fill-ups and the efficiency of a hybrid motor.

4. Digital Key

Available on the Niro Plug-in Hybrid SX Touring, the Digital Key lets you use your phone as a virtual key fob to lock and unlock the doors or start the engine. You can even share your Digital Key with friends and family and easily revoke access after it’s no longer needed.

5. Kia Connect

With a complementary 1-year Kia Connect subscription, you can use the Kia Access app to stay connected to your Niro Plug-in Hybrid with features like Send Destination to Car, which can pre-program your vehicle’s navigation system. You can also use the app to locate your vehicle in a crowded parking lot, or start the engine remotely and set your preferred cabin temperature.
